I'm going to dig out the service manual and do some reading tonight but I thought I would throw the question out here too.

I was wondering if a person could adjust the shift point on the automatic at wot without causing it to shift too early at part throttle. My truck shifts nicely at part throttle, but at wot it takes so long to shift that it defuels itself:mad: 2500rpm.

I know with the investment of a valve body I could cure some of this, but I would rather wait until I need to replace the entire transmission and get a package deal:D

Thank You for any responses.

Go to the DTT website and look around for the instructions for increasing line pressure.

There is a picture of the left side of the valvebody and it shows two adjustments. One is for increasing line pressure. The other is for adjusting part throttle shift speeds.

You can slack off on your TV cable or install a weaker TV spring in the valve body to lower WOT shift points.

Then you'll need to increase the RPM of the part throttle shift points to get them back where they are now.

In my opinion, you should just loosen off on the TV adjustment one click at a time until you get your WOT shift point correct. Make sure you mark the original position of the cable before you adjust anything.

You might find that this didn't affect the part throttle shifting enough to bother you. If it is noticable, then you can always move it back to your mark. I've heard finger nail polish is good for leaving marks.

Don't be afraid to experiment as long as you mark the original position before hand.

Good luck,

Chris

Thanks Chris,

My neihbors might become a little annoyed this weekend after I take it out on the highway for some trial runs:p

My biggest concern is having the line pressure drop too much and shorten the life of the clutches.

I will check out DTT's site, that's who I would like to go with on a complete transmission someday. For right now I want to get as much life out of my stock transmission as I can.

Thanks again!:D
