O. k. guys, try to imagine this... You just loaded up a tractor and your towing over 11,000. You start going down the road and when you go to shift from 3rd to 4th, the shifter breaks right off and falls to the floor!

I had some tools with me and took off the shifter boot to find that the shifter had broke off clean at the 1. 5" long nut that is welded to the shifter. No problem... I take the 1. 5" nut off the stud and find there are still threads in the shifter itself so I screw it back on. Continue down the road and drop my tractor off and head back home. Pulling into the drive way I go to shift to 2nd and the shifter once again breaks and falls to the floor.

O. k... . now I'm getting upset! Take the boot off again and this time, the threaded stud on the shifting fork has now broken. After looking it over, it has been breaking loose for a long time. So I take the shifting fork out and head to town to have a new grade 8 stud welded back onto the fork. Get home and put it all back together. Seems to work just as good as ever! However, if the shifter breaks off again, I'll be buying a new one. Anyone else have anything similar to this happen???
