I have a 99 dodge 3500 dually with an automatic trans OD reads 86400.

Had it in for front and rear break work. Front rotors cut ad break replaced, rear adjusted. Now when starting up and the trans first shift thru 1st the RPMs go to 2300 and hold for a bit then shifts in to 2nd. The truck use to shift at 1800 - 2000 smoothly.

Any thoughts of why after the repairs the shifting range change so much? Could they Knock a sensor loss. :confused:

The truck will be going back on their dime. :-{}

There I hooked ya up with some F's for free. No more ****ing problems. ;)

When it does finaly make the shift does it hang and shift hard?

If you feed it heavy fuel and let off quick @ say 2000 rpm does it force a shift?

No check engine light . . no loose sensor. The VSS sensor may have taken a powder being up on a lift could have shifted and pulled the wire harness that leads to the rear diff. That would screw up shifts for sure but that is all I can think of something like this happening after a simple brake job. :confused:

:Edit: On a 99 codes will have to be pulled Via a scanner. I know it will be on their nickel but check abck with what codes you have.

Who did your brake work, the dealer? They didn't happen to reflash your truck did they?

Or,

Did the installer (notice I didn't say tech. ) take your truck for a hard test drive and screw something up, set a code, etc. ?

Any modes on your truck, like a fueling box or boost fooler, maybe a lose conection there?

I drive a six speed so I know practically nothing about problems with the Dodge auto's, just thinking out loud. Good luck.
