Shipping Advise Please?

Can anyone help me find a a shipping company that can get an engine from N. E. Ohio to me here in Nevada? It's a 304 V-8 engine and I'm having a heck of a time getting it shipped to me. Thanks everyone!

I think you have to use a trucking company that only ships from and to businesses or trucking yards. I did a gas burning stove and it was a PITA.

i thought about saying i would meet you half way but that would be around 2500 miles round trip. dont really think i could do that in a weekend. unless you find someone to meet me in iowa and continue on. i would think that regular ground freight would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $1000. that is a long way to go.

It is going to be shipped to my work address so at least that won't be a problem. We have plenty of equipment to unload it from the truck.

Hi,

Give the guys at www.freightquote.com a call. I needed to truck ship a fuel tank from NV to Texas and they were able to get me a rate that was about 50% less than any of the freight lines offered me.

It has been over twenty years since I did this but I had to get an engine shipped to me and I just called the trucking companys like yellow freight etc at the time. Did not have any real problem finding one. Only real issue was getting it on and off the truck. They told me as long as I could get it to their terminal no problem. I got the guy I bought it from to get it on a pallet and strapped down etc and haul it to the trucking company terminal. They unloaded it for him and when I picked it up on my end they had it sitting in their warehouse and used a forklift to load into the back of my truck no problem. Also terminal to terminal was cheaper than them picking it up somewhere else and same for dropping it off.
