Looking for some opinions. I have a 2003 LWB that I tow with all summer. Not a big fan of factory shocks and was thinking of changing to Rancho's or better yet Bilsteins. I am not concerned with how firm the ride is as a matter of fact I prefer firmer. My main concern is longevity of the shock and it's ability to enhance my towing experiences (more stable tow, etc. ) Shoot me your ideas.

my rs9000 lasted 120k+ miles on my last dodge (1500 4x4). I run them on my new one too. Swapped the factories out ASAP. The good news, the factory 3500 shocks actually had "some" resistance in them

Got the Bilstiens all around on mine... . They are new so don't know about lasting but they ride nice with my 36' 5th

I just called Bilstein, last week, and they said the new shocks, dedicated to our trucks, should be available in about a month (middle of July '05).

The ones available, now, are for the lifted (2") 1/2 ton trucks (1500's). A lot of people are using them and no one that I know of, is complaining.

Towing performance where shocks are concerned? Any noticeable difference from the stock shocks are marginal at best when compared to the difference a set of air bags makes. Go by the Bilsteins, pull of the stockers and compare them with one another, I think you'll find the stock shocks are really a decent gas shock ;).

Two cents!!!!!!!!!!
