Just returned from trip up north. Results of new shocks on front. No more momentary instability when hitting a bump in a turn at freeway speed. Before the new shocks, it use to feel like a slight wobble in the front end when in a turn and going onto bridge or the like with a bump. So I am one happy dude.

Regarding a 2x4, I do not see why the adjustable RS9000's on the rear would not also be an advantage. Good price and life time warranty. I was a little worried that maybe I should have popped for the 9000's on the front also, however the RS5000's seem to do a great job up front. SNOKING

I now believe that I may need new front shocks. Anyone experience this? If so any ideas on what to replace the front shocks with? I have a 2000 2500 quad cab with 40,000 miles on it.

Ive had the same problem with every dodge ive owned

before you spend big money on aftermarket shocks

check the bottom bolt

the bolt is smaller than the hole in the shock

either tighten it so the shackle pinches the shock

or replace the factory metric bolt with a 9/16" bolt

that should stop the rattling you are hearing

been there done that

9000s on 2WD

Put RS9000s on my 2wd this weekend. Much, much better than stock or the Monroe VSTs(?) I put on a couple of years ago. Completely does away with that bouncing feeling in the front end. Have the fronts set on 4, rears on 1 when empty. Can't wait to see how they do pulling the 8k# travel trailer with the rears set on 5. Hope it helps alleve the "porpoising" action on uneven roads.
