I have an '05 2WD 2500 that is used mostly for towing my 9K lb fifth wheel trailer. At 60K miles I think it's about time to consider new shocks.

After searching the forums it seems like the Bilstein yellow/blue shocks are the most popular. My truck is at stock height and I'm just looking for something that will give me the most comfortable ride both unhooked and while pulling the trailer. Any opinions??

Personally I opted for the silver/black Bilstein 5100 on my white truck only because I couldn't stand to install anything yellow and blue on it, but the Bilstein HD4600 (yellow/blue) are an excellent shock for a stock truck. Everyone who runs them likes them. They are a little softer then the 5100.

I also have the STD yellow and blue Bilsteins for over a year. No complaints. Seem to give the truck more control, doesn't dance around after hitting the big bumps, ride is better than the stock shocks.

IMHO that is the ONLY option!

Personally, I like Ranchos. I tried their adjustable 9000 shock first, but found I never adjusted it, so have been using the 5000 since with no complaints.
