I just installed a set of Monroe Reflex shocks.

Seem to be a pretty good shock. Less body roll etc.

One thing that really surprised me... ...

The original shocks all still had gas in them and all pushed in with resistance like they should.

Only one was a little too easy to push in.

Not too bad for 207k miles and 11 years.

I'm not saying anything bad about the Bilsteins at all.....

But I get a discount at my local Auto place and had around 180 in all 4 shocks.

One day wait and warranty coverage if I ever need it, within 10minutes of the shop.

That's hard to beat.

We'll let ya know in a few thousand miles LOL

KO

I just ordered from ajusa also, did your guys' promo discount show up on original receipt, or did it get taken off at actual shipping. Receipt says i had a valid promo code, to be discounted at checkout, but no $$ amount was actually deducted.

Also, how bad of a job is it to throw these under the truck, rears probably not to bad, but the fronts look like they could be a pain. At 180K on what I am assuming original shocks, think its time for some replacements.

Thanks,

On my email receipt the discount showed up as a line item below the shocks.

I replied to the confirmation email, asking about it.

I ordered the 2550 and 2549 models, maybe that made a difference, and mine said "free ground shipping discount" after the promo 70228. I guess I'll find out. Either way, there still cheaper than other places I have looked.

MFalkinham - where in SE wisconsin? Wish the rain would stop here in Beloit-Jville area

At 235,000 miles I notice I am gettig vibrations after hitting bumps in the road, pavement breask, etc. DO I need shocks to? Still the original ones as far as I know.

I live in Beaver Dam, and work near Milwaukee in Germantown. It's been pouring here all morning as well. We sure don't need any more rain with all the skeeters we have around! :(

I'd say that most definitely new shocks are in order. The original shocks on my '98 were pretty shot at 145k. I love the new Bilsteins.

:)

I agree on the skeeters. Live back in the trees a little bit, and they will flat out carry you off even with gallons of bug spray. Of course after 26+ in. of rain in the last 5 weeks, go figures.

Regarding the promo code, they just replied, no deals right now, only free shipping on orders of $125 plus. Day late and dollar short I guess. Still be nice to get the new shocks, and hopefully continue my battle on a wondering front end, goofy tire wear.

Hah! The original shocks on *my* '98 were pretty much shot when the truck was delivered in 10/97. I put the first set of KYBs on at about 15K miles (the OEM shocks went right to the landfill), and out the second set on at about 90K miles. At 238K miles on the odo, the second set of KYBs are still as good as the first set (which I still have).
