Installed 6" rear spring blocks yesterday (thanks Brennan-BCook) after having the 3" blocks on my sagging 89. Now my rear shocks are too short I think. You can see them pulled apart or separating. Need to know if I need to buy rear shock absorbers for a 92 or 93 that had the 6"blocks? Or have to have 'special lift kit' shocks? I figured there can't be a shock that covers all 78-93 W250's since some came with different lift blocks. . hmm. . BTW I will be installing a pair or 5" stacks today, will have pics soon. Help me on this shocking topic please. Thanks Bill

Yep, you definately need longer shocks. If I read your post correctly, you got 3" more height?

Maybe I'm confused, but if you lifted the truck at all, you need longer shocks.

Even if you didn't lift the truck, that shock is extended quite a bit as is, it will limit suspension travel and give you poor performance in that condition.

6" blocks..........

Just my opinion, coming from a hard-learned lesson... .

Be carefull running that tall of a block, especially if they are made of aluminum. I had a set "roll out" from under an axle on a 83 w250 gasser on 36" tires. Took out the driveline, brake lines, and tore up the bed pretty good, too. And yes, my u-bolts were tight.

Throw in a whole bunch more torque from the Cummins, and that's a recipe for disaster (along with being fairly embarrasing).

And yeah, you need longer shocks, too... ... ...

My 93 4wd dually has about a 6" block under the rear spring. You might get the auto parts guy to compare shock lengths in his spec book for a starting point.
