I going to get ready to put new shocks on my truck and some of the shock bolts are pretty rusted. I am going to just burn the bolts off that I cant take off. When I put the new bolts in place should I use a lock washer, nilock nut, lock tight,or just bolt it like they are now? Also should I replace them with grade 5 or grade 8 nuts and bolts

Thanks.

I can't imagine a 2001 truck that has it's shock bolts so corroded that they can not re removed with a normal wrench. Just take the time to spray them once or twice with a can of penetrating oil, they should back right out. If you do waste them, I would think grade 5 is fine.
