Just wondering how long the stock shocks last Bought my truck when it had 60k, it now has 113k on it. It seems to ride a little rough now. I understand that a 3500 will not ride the best but you shouldn't feel every little pebble, and reflector in the road. Just wondering if a new set of shocks might help??

They could be shot. Wouldn't surprise me.

I bought Bilstien OEM shocks. They are bit firmer than the stock ones, but work great. Got rid of my body roll on turns and goofy roads.

Several of the old ones I couldn't even push together. Others dropped like a rock if I held onto one end. No gas/oil left.

Some people have had issues with the rubber bushings on the Bilstiens, but mine are still fine after owning them several years.

Had one on one of my Ford trucks that was frozen up. The rod was bent as well. Rode MUCH better afterwards. :D Just put some cheap gas shocks on that old girl.

Probably handling problem. I had a very similar problem after getting new tires- e. g. all over the road, hard to handle etc. I installled new shocks, all gone. I went with bilsteins all around. good choice in my book, ride is calm and interupption free now... Maybe start out with the base bilsteins?

I bought my truck when it had 114,000 on it, I had the stock shocks replaced at Sears with the Rancho RS 5000's at 130,000 miles. It was when they had that free installation deal going on, I think it was around 250-$260. 00 to get them done. I have seen a lot of guys on here going with bilsteins or the RS 9000's, I was skeptical of getting the RS 5000's on my rig, but the guys said they would be alright, and after 5,000 miles, the ride is great, much improved handling and diminished body roll.
