Certainly economy of scale plays into making springs, but the math is simple and the concept does work and has been used many thousands of unique applications - not all of which are vehicular.
Thuren springs are available in multiple lengths, I just installed a set of 2" front springs with overland shocks and trackbar on my truck, and the difference is night and day. Bumps that would have me hammering the bumpstops can be hit at twice the speed and are fully controlled. The 2" springs would work out to 1.75 on the 3500. 1"/0.75" springs are also available.
Bilstein shocks, I run 19.5s, on my 3500DRW, and having driven trucks my whole life, I see a difference. I do keep the rears at 55-60psi when empty, seems to help.
