my truck has 196000 km. thinking of new shocks. 98. 5 2x4 long box , basic stock and daily driver. anyone used rancho 5000 on front and 9000 on rear ? not presently towing or hauling anything. thanks for your replies. Oo. Oo.

My dad is running 5000's all the way around on a 95 pulling a 7K# fiver, he is very happy with them. I am running 9000's all the way around and tow little, the 9K's were some of the best money I have spent on my truck yet! There is a post in the P/A forum listing the 9000's for $45 each, that is less than the 5000's are most places. At that price you can get 4 9000's cheaply. Hope this helps.

I've been running the Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks on my 2500 for over a year or so now. VERY pleased! Nice and firm on pavement, both around town and at interstate speeds, but they don't throw you around the cab when you go over bumps and heaves. Where they really shine is in the gravel and dirt... much less harsh off the pavement but still plenty of dampening across the washboard, etc. I will replace them with same if I ever wear them out.



When I first got them, I went on a fishing trip in the boondocks of Wyoming with a friend who also has a 2500 CTD of the same vintage, and we happened to be trading off driving duties. The improvement in the ride of my truck was so dramatic that he bought a set immediately upon return to civilization!



A third friend is running them on his Dakota gasser and is similarly pleased.

R5000 & R9000

What is the difference? Are the rates of dampening lower for the 5000 making them softer? Will these shocks enable a 2in longer coil replacement upfront in the future if so inclined instead of a 2in spacer?

I put on Rancho 9000's all around a couple of months ago and I am very happy with the results. I tow a 5th wheel and have a truck camper. Depending on what I am hauling or just a daily driver, I can tune the ride just the way I like it. I highly recommend the product. Also, lifetime warranty.

I can tell you that those are the part numbers for the Bilstein shocks needed for a '95 2WD 3500 'cause I just put those on my truck.
