Shocks

I'm looking into installing a 2" leveling kit and adding new shocks all the way around. I've never had aftermarket shocks on my Rams before and was hoping some of you could describe the characteristics of Bilstein vs. Rancho shocks. What characteristics will I notice from these shocks over my stock ones?

I can only speak for the rancho rsx,that i have installed. can one say rigid!!!Oo.

I had the Rancho 5000's and they helped with control and stability, and were not real harsh. Only problem was they didn't last, they had developed a leak after 5-6000 miles. I replaced the two fronts (they were the leaker's) with Bilstein OEM replacements. They were very good at control and stable, but the were a little more harsh with the ride.

Heard that, I too would have bought bilstiens but they were not yet available for the truck!

Rancho Experience

Can't speak about Bilsteins, but I like the Rancho RS9000Xs on my 2002 3500. They are great if you have diverse driving/load ranges. I even find I sometimes like a firm unloaded ride and sometimes a softer ride.



Haven't changed out my wife's, primarily because we don't haul much with her truck.
