Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Need some REALLY GOOD

You would never have quessed

I just wanted to chime in that I am a pretty serious bowhunter, I was on the USCG Marksmanship team, I have dabbled in bench rest shooting, skeet, I was in demolition in the US Army, and my newest addicition is a scaled down replica of a civil war siege mortar that my dad made that shoots a pop can filled with concrete 1000 yds with 350 gr of black powder. It will put a smile on your face!!

I get ya patriot! I am temporarily at my in-laws (yuck) because I just got discharged as a disabled veteran. You have my word that first chance I get, I will video my mortar firing!!

I'm in! Neighborhood Firepower Superiority is absolutely critical to good relations! Now we know why Homeland Insecurity's Janet Napalitano :p is targeting you returning veterans for terrorist watchlists. ;) :D

BTW: I shoot a Mathews Outback and started bowhunting before Fred Bear even came out with the old 4-wheeler Whitetail. That was quite the contraption back then "... a bow with wheels and cables?!!" "They call it a "compound". "

"I dunno 'bout this. I doubt it will ever catch on... I'll keep my Kodiak Magnum.

Besides, nobody but us "crazy guys" and Indians hunt deer with bows and arrows anyway. "

Yup. Things sure have changed. But my sons and I still do most all of our non-feathered game hunting with bows.

I want to thank you with all my heart and sincerity, M1AM14SPUR, for your service and sacrifice. You're among friends here on TDR. Anytime you want to talk hunting, I'm in!

The Land of Big Corn-fed Bucks, including the World Record whitetail: Iowa.

Better known now as the Tall Cornhole State since a handful of twisted judges on the state supreme court shoved "gay marriage" up our exit-only's!

It's getting hard these days to find private ground to hunt, though. All those TV hunting shows are doing for that simple pleasure what Barrett Jackson did for the average working man being able to own and enjoy driving a muscle car...

Thank you for your service!:D

I dont hunt, but I do like shooting. I feel being able to use a tool efficiently/properly/safely is very important. For many reasons.....

Everyone in my family shoots. Little brother became distinguished @ camp perry in 99 while on the all guard team.

I was there. The weather was really nine for a change. Spent a few nights @ the redhorse squadron.

Bows and mortars in the same thread... . this place just keeps getting better!

Thanks for your service, can't wait to see the pictures!!

Cheers, Dan-

M1A, Welcome and along with the others, thanks for your service. Pictures of the Mortar please or heck build/engineering plans:) That sucker would be fun:):)

Thanks for your Service and Sacrifice, also! I hope your return to civilian life is enjoyable. BTW, I am a firm believer in the concept of "647 grains of diplomacy":-laf. GregH
