Shop in Louisville Area

Hi All,



Before I moved out here I picked up new rear wheel bearings, races, seals and syn diif fluid for front and back. I was planning to do the work at home before I hit the road but didn't get time. Now I don't have a place to do the work myself so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a decent shop within an hrs drive of Louisville that could do the work for me. I hate taking my truck to a shop, much less one I don't know but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

You might try Tony's Popular road they are in the Yellow pages or there is a Cummins here By I64 Cummins Cumberland . I haven't had to use a shop to do any thing yet. On my 99 3500 only have less than 50000 Dodge did cover the alignment at Tony's under warranty though. Hope this helps. Ron Bissett

Try Poff's Transmission in Georgetown Indiana. It would only be about a 25 minute drive from Louisville and Tony (owner) does great work. He pressed my carrier barings on for me when I put in my Locker for free and I know a lot of others who have had work done there and been super happy with it.

It's a little rinky dink shop, guy even works on stuff outside, but he does good work, and is honest.

Sounds like my kind of shop.



The only shop I'd let work on my truck in Washington which was for my first clutch install was a Case tractor dealer! They were the only shop that I felt I could trust and they had a good mechanic. Oh yeah, I left it with Dan at Quad4x4 in Montana for a few day but definately no worries there.

Well I'm dropping my truck off at Poffs tonight so they can do the bearings etc. tomorrow. I let you know how it goes.

They aren't the cheapest place I know of but they do honest work and that's what matters.

Picked up my truck yesterday and all is well. The price wasn't that bad $55/hr. They did the rear bearings, races and front and rear diff fluid. Someone must have had some fun on the test drive because everything that was in the box against the cab was piled against the tail gate (oh well). Nice to go to a shop and leave not fealing like you got ripped off.
