Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) How many HP from a WH1C?

I have the engine out, 183K miles, and am putting an upper/lower gasket set on this before going into my conversion project (see conversions, 1978 Crew Cab 4x4).

I'm going to have the head checked and a valve job, any machine shop recommendations near Colorado Springs for this work? I'd love to Stage 1 port it from PDR, but that is overkill for the level of engine I want.

Also, killing the KDP (tab), and considering a pdr cam. Since I am only going 350-400HP with this, I'm thinking I need to spend money on intake, injectors, (has a tst #10), 3KGSK, turbo, an exhuast.

Use of the truck will be daily driver, and some rare light to medium towing (up to 10K), and of course surprising a few folks not expecting black smoke out of a 1978 F250.

Thanks folks, jon

Your might give Craig Brooks a call at Competition Engines a call. They do performance work and might do the valve job on a Cummins. They are out on the south side of town going to Manitou Springs. 719-630-1283 Tell em Roger Tillery sent you. If they won't do it, I will bet they can recommend someone down in that area. Good luck.

Thanks Roger,

They knew what they were talking about - and good prices. $190 for a base price. I may add 60# springs while they are in there if the price is reasonable for the parts. It goes in Monday.

thanks
