Does anyone recommend a shop or a reputable individual to change out gears on a Dana 70 dually? Not in a hurry but I have been quoted anywhere from $250-450 for labor only. I think many don't want to mess with this axle. I probably could do this myself but don't have the time to figure out how to do it. Or if anyone in Denver has experience with these and would be willing to "help" me for a sum of money that would be great.

Dana's need a special jig or axle stand, I wouldn't atempt it myself and I've been wrenching all of my life. Leave it to the pro's and get a warranty.

If you're still in need of a shop to work on Dana 70's, try High Country Performance 4x4 on W. Hamilton Place in Englewood. Another good shop is Five-R on W. Colfax (about two blocks west of I-70) in Golden. High Country has replaced several sets of gears for me.

If you don't mind driving a little ways I would HIGHLY recommend Colo. 4 Wheel Drive in Ft. Collins. Call Kurt at 970-484-5072. One of the best in Colo. IMHO.
