Hello From the Conversions Group!

Adding Yellow side turn signals to RV

You can use a regular FW hitch, but one day you WILL hit the cab of the truck.

You can use any hitch that mounts to the frame with "no drilling or no welding".

There is no problem drilling the frame as long as you follow the guildline put out by Dodge, I would rather have a mount bolted to the frame than clamped on it somehow.

I have a G-neck Featherlite race trailer with a 6' wide nose. B&W Turnover ball hitch WITH the extenda-ball which sets the ball 4" rearward..... With a short bed 3rd Gen I can easily turn 90* with the set-up I have..... BUT... . The DOdge shortbed WILL turn shorter that the trailer can going forward... . Dont ask how I know BUT a Factory slider retails for about $492. 00 and bump and paint work is about $350. 00 Insurance said it would be "AT FAULT" collission and rates would go UP so I sucked it up and paid cash... ...

Spend the money on the right equip and STILL be carefull...

I also have a slider that I have towed a fifth with for 4 years, perhaps 50,000 mi. , without ever moving back, I thought I'd like it in case I might need it in a tight spot. I touched the cab once, never again. I have about a 10" extended pin on a 31' trailer and would do it again. The short bed works well for me in Mexico and in city use.

Thanks for all your input.

My local dealer sold me a new slider draw rite 16000 hitch.

He is installing it for an extra 200.

Sold my toybox last night.

Looks like I am closer to a 5vr than I thought. .

Now all I need is one of those blue jump suits with the gold belt buckle and I will look like page 37 in the RV catalog... :)
