Keep Blowing A Fuse

Presently towing just under 14k gooseneck horsetrailer with my 96 dodge 3500 4x4 dually with manual trans ( and just put in my 4th clutch plate at 145k on the odometer). I'm thinking of upgrading and considering shortbed and single rear axle. Is that unreasonable with the weight I am pulling? If a short bed is feasable, do I need to put in a sliding hitch (the trailer has a wide front over the hitch)? Anyone know the minimum distance between the cab and the hitch for this set up?

Get the fifth Airborne sidewinder Hitch that connects to the trailer. . then all you need to get is a regular hitch for the truck...

The Hitch rotates from side to side so a SB truck can easily do a 90 turn with alot of clearance

Last time I checked the Airborne was for a fifthwheel not a Gooseneck, and I have a Mega Cab and pull both my fifthwheel and my goosnecks and never had a problem with clearence although if you are used to a long bed there is less room , but I have a B&W Companion Fver hitch and I have Plaenty of clearence, and for my Goosnecks I have a B&W Offset ball, and no problems.

Yeah, I checked out the fifthairborne websight and nothing there for gooseneck. I was looking forward to a full crew cab shortbed dodge 2500 or 3500 by 2010, but now I see there may not even be a dodge /chrysler company according to news reports
