I had a shortbed truck once and I did not like it. I purchased a longbed Cummins because:
1. I bought a truck to haul and I want to be able to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood without having to lower the tailgate.
2. If you have a toolbox mounted on a shortbed, your effective bed length is about 4 feet. Not much hauling capability.
3. Can't sleep in the shortbed if you have a tool box.
