I am trying to decide if I should send my comp back & get it modified to the drag comp, but I just wanted to see what the benefits were. What does it change performance wise? How much does it change the rev limiter? What power can i expect? Any info is appreciated. thanks guys

From what I've read here the drag comp defules at a higher RPM (I think 3300 vs. 2700). But, ONLY in 5-5, so unless you don't have to be concerned with egts it's not really effective for us stock turbo'ed guys??? I think there's a post on the Product/Assessories Engine & Drivetrain forum about this.

Drag comp box on 5-5 smokes a lot and egt's are high. I think it changes the rev limiter 2700 to 3200 rpms. There's no de-fueling protection. I felt a substantial amount of power increase. It's worth it!

It doesn't change the rev limiter per se, rather it keeps fueling up to 3,200rpm instead of where the ecm defuels the engine at 2,700rpm. So from 2700 up to 3200 the horsepower curve is about flat it drops a little but stays just under peak horsepower. If you compare the normal comp horsepower curves to the drag comp at about 3200rpm the difference (depending on other mods) is ~20hp.

On my truck, there was a noticeble differance between the standard Comp and the Drag version. And not only on 5x5. It pulled harder on every setting.

If I did not go to another setup, I would still be running the Comp. In fact, I just put it up for sale.

would a reg. comp used with a CaTCHer special be the same on all levels as a drag comp on 5x5 as far as fueling out to 3400

having run a "Special" Catcher and a regular Comp I can tell you the answer is no.

The reason is that there is so much more fuel available in the Drag version.
