Just noticed dodge is offering the 0% fin. again, and I was wondering if I should sell my baby for a better deal. Love my truck, I think more then the new, but how am I going to know. And if I do trade it what should I expect for 23000 on a SLT, Big Horn, crew cab, short bed cummins?

0% actually is just a marketing tactic, all they do is sell the truck to you for more money, So compare this to paying a real rate of 6% there is no differnce in the end, acutally its a disadvantage because if you want to unload the truck after a year or so, you will be stuck with paying more. do some research give tomey gun a call, as long as you are buying the truck right in the beginning I see no reason to take the 0%

My Grandson just bought an 06' Mega-cab Laramie 4X4 from DaveSmith in Kellog Idaho. They took $1800. 00 off Invoice, then gave him $300. 00 discount for having a business. He took the 0 Precent intrest as well for a 60 month term.

The truck he got had a MSRP of 52,400. 00, and he paid 41,000 for the new truck. They then gave him 25,500. 00 for his 03', which was 2,500. 00 more than the local dealer would give him on trade. I think he got a real deal!

Im tossing my 05 for an 06 this weekend because of the 0%. I already talked to the salesman and we went through it all. In the end I will be paying 3,671 dollars LESS for an 06 Quad Cab, 4x4, Sport, 6spd, SWB, SRW, SLT than my current 05 with no money down. But I will be putting some down. Not to mention my monthly payments are going to be about 150. 00 less a month.

Plus I hear they are offering "no payments until October" along with that 0%. that's a nice chunk of change! Sure you got to pay it in the end, but if your already making payments and decide to skip the next 6 payments that could pay for a heck of a vacation (or some bombs)

keep in mind what you should actually be paying, if the truck has a sticker of 40k you shouldn't be paying more than about 32,800 if you are doing conventional finanacing. with all the discounts and incentives. I don't know how long they run the 0% for, but the best way to figure out is go to bank rate.com and play with the loan calculators, check the difference in doing the 0% or taking all the incentives, add up the total payments and see what the net amount in interest is, dealerships are classic at smoke and mirros and new truck fever. the loan calculators don't lie, check them out!!!

If you like your current truck, and are only trading to get the 0% financing, I don't see that there is any way you will come out ahead by trading.

No you should keep what you have, you have already paid on your 2005, now if you buy a 2006 you will be paying all over from the start and you can consider the payments you made on the 2005 truck as just another year added onto your 2006 truck loan.

You say you really like your 2005, then keep it an continue to enjoy it.

0% is not a gimmick for folks that purchase at or below dealer invoice. I would agree it's a gimmick on the MSRP side of business, however. The reality it that 0% will attract more people from the retail side hence it can be seen as a gimmick and to DC's advantage to market that way.

I did not trade my truck in because I knew it would be easy to sell. I sold it to a friend at work. (only because I have ext warr. )but I will do the deal through the dealer so I will save 6% on the sales tax on my new truck,so on paper I trade it to the dealer and he sells it to my friend for the price we agreed on. the dealer is one of the good ones.

I just spent a couple hours at a local Dodge dealership. All they were offering was invoice plus $500 on an auto 4x4 Megacab Laramie. Invoice was $47,800, for a total of $50,975 otd. They started by offering $21k for my truck, but I could keep all my parts :-laf

I walked out with them offering $24k for my truck. No deal. I'd rather drive to Idaho and deal with DSM.

I think I could flip my truck for a bit more than $24k, no? It only has 40k miles. I really want that new Megacab. My girlfriend even signed off on it

Hopefully something will happen soon!

As far as your trade is concerned, do it! That is, as long as you get it for invoice minus rebates plus 0%

Maybe a good deal??????

But when you look at what the Federal Government pays for dodge pickup trucks - diesels - IT WOULD MAKE YOU SICK. I mean way less than what your son's trade-in was valued at... ..... I'm sorry but a MSRP of $52,400 for a pickup - DC should provide these with a 55 gallon drum of vasoline for the *&%*%^ that one is taking over that hugely inflated $$$$$ - Oh and BTW - I've seen how much uncle pays for them and it ain't no tiny % off MSRP that we are lead to believe... .

Don't forget scott is giving us FFP pricing which is a little below invoice, sounds like the price they gave you,my truck was 55,600 msrp and FFP was 49,100 plus farm rebate- 500. 00 I sold my 03 for 26,000 to a friend but going through the dealer with the sale saved another 1500. 00 so I got 27,500. 00 for my truck and my friend I felt got a good deal.

now add 0% and know payment till oct. and the boss giving the thumbs up. Oo.

lets face it, we love are trucks, but I think half the fun is buying a new one then getting all the goodies for it. I understand its a bad investment, but what is my happiness worth ? :-laf

... ... ... Remember the Warrenty on the '05 is 7/70 as opposed to 3/36 for the '06... . Unless you bought an extented warrenty. Even then the extented warrenties on the '05's are less than on the '06's for this same reason. Glad I got an '05... ... ... . Not that the '06's aren't good trucks... ... ... .....

:) I am so happy with my 95 with 193,000 on it and it has been paid for for several years. Why would I want to pay 40 grand pluss for a new one when this one does every thing I want it to. I know, I know I"m no fun at all. :-laf

I had a 96 reg cab,Then they came out with Q cab in 98. 5 so I had to have that. then bought an 03 for the new Qcab (and two kids) was the reason for that. Now its the mega cab. more room for the growing boys.

I guess if dodge comes out with a 5500 mega cab long bed Im going to have to have that ;)

I'm feeling the pressure of the Megacab and the 0% 60 Month deal!

A good friend of mine just bought one and now my wife is wanting me to do it too. I may just do it, help me!!!!!!!

Here is a pic of his truck... ... ... .
