I'm sure most of you can change your own oil faster than you can driver to and from a lube shop (even with 400 HP). I know I can. So if your in a hurry I can't understand why that would seem quicker, taking it somewhere rather than doin it yourself. Somewhere around 10 minutes maybe for myself if I'm in a hurry

never, never, never

i took the x's 2001 jeep grand Cherokee to a national quick change oil place, when they were done, i went to the parts store to replace the air filter, guess what, the filter box was open, no filter. they had removed it to ask me if i wanted them to replace it, and must of forgot. of course i call and complained, they sent me in the mail a free oil change coupon. but what a bone-head move. matt

I recently took my Chebby work pickup in for an oil change. Got it done, drove home and smelled burning oil. I thought no biggie, I usually dribble a bit on the engine block myself. However, I did look underneath the truck. Lo and behold, there is oil leaking from the filter, sprayed all the way back to the rear diff and on the exhaust. I walk back down the driveway looking at the oil trail I've left.

Next day I take it back and tell them to fix it. Seems the pit monkey forgot to include the gasket on the oil filter. The engine was a quart and a half low after driving 20 miles!

I'd never take my Dodge in.
