Thanks, TDR Staff

Ford has done it again.

It was a long wait

Got this picture in an email today, truck brand doesn't really matter, just wanted to take a free jab at those who don't have a CTD though... Maybe if he had a Cummins he could have drove all the way down the hill, instead of getting stuck! :D Sorry about the pic being sideways, couldn't compress it or get it to fit any other way :(

Looks like he lost control driving down the road or just driving to fast with a load, regardless of the big three "brand type" it could of happened to anyone dumb enough---i bet he's hoping those safety chains hold for a bit :-laf :-laf :-laf

Hwy 178 in the Kern River Canyon just east of Bakersfield, Ca. Dunno if it's 7 or 8 years old but it at least 3. Twisty canyon road with some down hill grade before you hit that section. Probably too fast with over heated brakes. They lose a couple a year over the edge into the river.

I know that picture... It's on Highway 38 Pm 16. 4. It's south of Camp Angels, Ca (Near Big Bear City). The guy was pulling over to let traffic by, skidded on some gravel and over the side he went... Always check your Boat Trailer Brakes. His were way out of adjustment. Probably needed to check his shorts too! :-laf

If he skidded on gravel, a jake wouldn't have been much help. Even a perfectly set trailer brake controller might not help. Once you hit the ball bearing gravel you're s. o. l unless you're already barely moving. Too much speed when you hit gravel on a down-grade and its like you're on ice. I don't know if even manually manipulating the trailer brakes would help.

The guy's just lucky he didn't go over and then have that boat come punching through the back window. That would eff-up your whole day.
