I might have another solution. Limit the number of Topics that can be started by each person per day. I think one topic per forum per day is more than adiquate.

This whole topic is coming off as the same idea behind censoring albums. Its real simple, If you dont want to read what you call "Meaningless posts" DONT READ THEM!!. Ignore them, nobody is forcing you to read them, they are in the "Other" forum, you know that 85% it is going to random goofy stuff that if anything, maybe gives you a chance to laugh once in awhile. Big deal. Of you have no sense of humour or are too uptight to deal without, STAY OUT OF THERE.

I have over 2,000 posts and anybody who has seen me on here knows 99% of the threads i START are for a purpose, they have a reason. Thats just me, but i dont take offense to Doc or Whitmore posting weird stuff. They paid there money to join this site, and as far as i am concerned, they can post anything they want. Some of it is funny, some of it is stupid, but that is my opinion and if i dont want to read it, i dont open the topic. Thats it, i am not asking Admin to delete there post counts or whining about it. Granted, latley it has gotten really bad and it has gone from 2 or 3 pointless posts a day to well over 10, But so what, i can tell right away by the subject if its worth my time to read. As long as they stay in "Other" just let it be.

This site if fine, i dont see any need to change it and knowing when someone joined is important to know as is a post count because i am definatley going to trust the advice of a 3 year member with over 1,000 posts then someone who has been on here for 6 months and has 50. Just my 2c.

Who gives a crap??

When I am reading real topics in the other forums, other than the other forum. :p I can tell, by the content of what someone posts, whether they know what they are talking about or don't have a clue. I don't pay one bit of attention to when they joined or how many posts they have.

If you gauge someone's knowledge by how long they have been a member of a group or by how many times they have posted an opinion or tip, my condolences. You are in for an expensive future.

EMDDIESEL

Well said and so true. It doesnt take long to find out that someone thats been a member for 6 months and has 1200 posts doesnt have a whole lot to say, which is a good reason to keep post count intact. We all find out pretty quick whos post we will read and those we wont read. DONT CHANGE IT.
