Competition Bonneville Speed Week

Great Day for Dodges. About 5 fords and 0 chevies came out to play. A ford actually made it to the finals. That driver really knew how to bracket race. But in the end WAYNE from Miami's black Dodge Sport ruled the track. He had a near perfect . 502 break out and dialed in a 14. 1 and I believe he hit 14. 117 to take the final round. Congrats to Wayne for being the First EVER Event winner in the DHRA. Wierdest site at the track was a powerstoke jacked up with 22. 5 tires and a train horn drag racing. :eek:

Bill,

Sounds like a great time! I can't wait to see the results from David.

BTW, the first DHRA race was March 22nd in Roswell, NM. Sorry...

Will we see any of you in Ky? I'm pumped!

I though there was only UFO's in Roswell? Gonna try to get pics up- my son also shot digital video of the runs including the record runs-I'll be sending dvd copies to jeff and Dave soon.

That's Beautifl Man

Good job by Wayne:cool:

Let us know what your 60' was Wayne.

Us two wheel drive guys gotta stick together;)

Bill and Wayne GREAT going. Florids is not like Mass. TOOO cold to run. I should of stayed another week. I would like to see the pic. I will keep track of this thread. OverFueled:{

Wonderful turn-out

I just got home and am ready for bed but...

Great turn-out and Bradenton Motorsports Park really treated us well. The track had a great surface and it was prepped well, but either due to heat, wind, or something, everyone was down a few notches on MPH and up on ET.

Congrats go out to Wayne Cole and his very sharp black 1999 2500. Wayne turned it on and virtually left nothing on the table running a 14. 213 @ 96. 27 MPH on a 14. 20 dial. Wayne's . 502 light was just the icing on the cake. The numbers were:

Dial-In = 14. 20

Reaction Time = . 502

60' = 2. 380

330 = 6. 199

1/8 = 92. 69 @ 79. 57 mph

1000 ft = 11. 945

1/4 = 14. 213 @ 96. 27 mph

Jeff Garmon's official World Record attempt for DHRA Pro Diesel was recorded at 10. 898 @ 122. 85. The numbers were:

60' = 1. 557

330 = 4. 487

1/8 = 6. 939 @ 99. 74 mph

1000 = 9. 081

1/4 = 10. 898 @ 122. 85

We had some fast trucks out there, some really good races, and only "breakage" done was a blown off intercooler boot.

I'll get the results together and get them to Eric and up on the DPM site.

I would like to thank Randy Cobb and Mike Batterson for putting in the time teching and just generally helping out; Garmon's Diesel Performance for sponsoring a $100 cash prize for each, quickest Ford and Dodge in competition, and most important everyone that came out to either race or watch. This is only the beginning of something really cool. As DHRA grows, so will the fun.

Hey it was good meeting all you guy's , and I had a great time over the weekend. I really don't bracket race , I do race a Grand National Buick but it's all heads up racing. I learned alot during this event and think i'm getting the hang of this bracket stuff. The first round I actually red lighted against my friend Miguel (maybe that giant powerstroke crew cab W/24. 5" semi wheels got me frazzled at the line:rolleyes: ) I figured since I redlighted my mistake , I'd do the buy back thing and give myself a fair chance. Well somehow I worked my way to the finals and won the event .

What I did learn is run slower & run more consistent . I raced with the box on 4/5 , converter unlocked & left the line w/ only 1,200 rpm so I knew the truck would hook on every run.

HVAC I could'nt better my 2. 00 60FT actually never even got close to it but thats another day. For you guys that have'nt seen Garmon's 10 second truck run it's pretty awsome, I was right behind him in my truck waiting to run when he launched that thing, by the time the smoke on the starting line cleared he was already past the traps :eek:
