The neighbors 06 finally burned up the front band after 170,000 miles. It was getting the shuttle shift pretty bad just before it finally failed. I decided to try the TTVA modification by clocking the actuator one tooth clockwise when looking at the gears from the top. I can't say it made any difference, but since there were not any photos posted to the original instructions I thought it would be good to record the process for anyone else trying to do it.
The first photo is the TTVA with the gear cover removed. Remember you are looking at it upside down. It is mounted on the transmission with the gear on the bottom, not on the top as shown.
The second photo shows the black driven gear that mates with the throttle valve on the transmission. Notice the flat running from the 2 to 7 o'clock position. Your gears might not be in this position, depending where the motor stopped.
The third photo shows the driven gear pulled up. You carefully pull it free from the drive gear and rotate it one tooth clockwise when looking from the top.
The next photo shows the gear (look at the flat) in the moved position.
The next photo shows installing the cover back on. It makes it easier if you install one end of the cover down so the tabs go under the lip, then tap the other side down. I sealed the cover with a bead of silicone since the tabs are a little tough to get as tight as they were.
