after looking at dodge for a few years i bought 07. 5 3 years ago i planed on keeping for10 to 15 years. like everyone else truck was reflased more times than i can count turbo was replaced 3 times. stering joint went bad at1200 miles ball joints went at 20000 then went again at 50000. now at 52000 trany has took a crap. truck has been at dealer for 2 weeks they say pump and converter is bad i had planed on doing the deleats when warranty is up and up grading ball joints but now with trany out i am fed up with this truck i am self employed floorsander this truck has been used to look at work and towed 10 foot dumpbed 15 to 20 times when truck is running it is great and it looks great. but i cant take it any more.

Sorry to hear a bad story like this deffently sound's like you got a Lemon alot of the 07. 5 truck's were junk I have a 08 and can honestly say it's a Great truck just has a hair over 76,000 and it's been trouble free Maybe dodge can do something for you to make ya happy ?Don't give up hope IMO you have the best Diesel pick/up on the market

floorman

I've got several of these trucks with close to a million miles on the group... . You've had more problems with your one truck than I've had with all mine put together...

You don't say where your at... . but if you've really been looking at these trucks for years, have you been reading this forum...

Just my thoughts. .

I bought a 7. 5 and only put about 33k on it so far mostly tow to and from home in NV to CT about 10 t0 11k and had a few sooting issues and reprogrammed about 3 or 4 times with some other minor recalls but so far no big problems and truck runs great especially when towing 3k one way.

I see floorman has 1 post so welcome floorman!

In this case the one bad apple does not mean all the apples are bad. . yes you got a lemon and one of the 1st 6. 7 Cummins. . That is one thing I would never have done. . buy the first out because there are going to be a lot of problems. . a lot of reflashes. . computer and timing problems. .

My 09 has only had 1 reflash. I only have 10K on it but so far I am very happy with it. If you able to trade to a 09 or new 10 if no 09's are available, I would bet you would be much happier.

As a truck and equipment owner I know that there is always the possibility of a "Lemon" in the bunch. I have not had that issue with any of my 5 Dodge Cummins trucks. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hope your next truck treats you better.

Oh well......

On the way to get the EGR cleaned this morning, the drivers side visor fell off and whacked me in the face! WTF?? My service rep's face actually reddened when I handed it to him.....

Ken

All three of the Dodge Rams I've owned have been built in Mexico and have been great trucks.

I would prefer Mexico built over St. Louis labor union build any day. If the American assembly plant was non-union my opinion would be very different.

I Would say Mr Floor man is a TRoll

a 1 post wounder who lives over on the cheby or furd forums.

notce no reply since june 4

I hate to counter Mr barlows opnion Cause most of times that He has very integillent and articulate things to say However I do own a forest river product so what do i know. so i will say this

I have 6 union made, Made in USA vehicles in my family All of them run flawlessly.

my mistake was trying to bomb the Cummins. But I am overall, still loving my 99 made in USA dodge CTD and I still drive the **** out of it.

Mr barlow land is cheap in mexico 100 year lease maybe a great retirement place for a Rich Gringo. Might help you to appreaceate the good ole USA and the values bestowed apon us from union intervention. Now tell me again why all the those nice people cross the border from Mexico to come here to the USA?? I am un clear

Have a great day

Chris,

I served my country in the United States Navy for about as long as you have been on the planet. The cute remarks of a boy like you will have no bearing on where I choose to live.

Instead of posting a personal attack suggesting that a patriot who voluntarily served his country move to a foreign country because you don't like my opinion why don't you instead provide an intelligent argument demonstrating the advantages to the auto/truck manufacturer and America in general of employing union labor?

Your naivete is showing in your comment. It is the inefficient work habits and outrageous compensation demanded by labor unions that resulted in Dodge locating its truck plants in Mexico. Labor unions with their inefficiency and greedy demands will eventually result in the complete closure of all American automobile and truck plants or relocation to other countries.

Mr Barlow

as I have posted on these forums before I am pro Union. I only buy union made products when I can. I have addressed the overinflated Bias against unions in other threads this was not an Attack on you or your service to our great country. I thank you very much for serving, just as I thank every member of the armed service I meet when I am traveling. or in my home town. Mr Barlow I said nice things in my post about you, integillent, arcticulate, I have posted in in other threads about you being wise your KNowledge of RV products as well as hot shot delivery service. However I do take offence to personal attacks on unions, as a Union negotatior I sit across from people just like you at the Bargining table, the same people who get their coffee break and 8 hour work day because of union action in the past these same people enjoy personal freedoms afforded to them by unions. But also freedoms were cemented by people like you who sacrificed their time to serveour country, had it gone the other way we might be speaking Japanese. Again thank you Mr barlow for your service. If someone posted negative things about our armed service I would be the first to defend our service men just as I would and Will defend My unions. There was no personal attack on you Mr. Barlow I was merely suggesting an alternative plan for you cause you love the Mexico built trucks so much. Have you ever been to a vehicle Manufacturing plant in the Usa Or Mexico I have the 2 are like night and day. we will dabate this or go look at other post I have posted about the difference between the 2, Mr Barlow I hold your experience in high reguard as well as your knowledge of a lot of things. But you are not always right. If you took my above post as a attack than I apologize to you again. but it was not meant to be a personal attack. Nor an attack on your service to our country

Have a great day

Chris

Chris,

Labor unions are good for their members while they are successfully forcing their demands on corporations but not for the American economy or long range employment of American workers. Labor unions increase product and service cost and prices, reduce efficiency, and damage and destroy companies, industries, cities, and regions. The proof is indisputable and evident all over America.

Your support of labor unions from the experiences and point of view of a union member is understandable. Certainly being a union member is perceived by you to be an advantage.

Will you still believe your membership was a good thing when the company who pays you and tolerates the bullying of your union closes or relocates off shore as it eventually will?

You are engaging in wishful thinking when you claim a labor union built truck is better in any way than one built in Mexico. It is simply not true and not provable by any standard or method of comparison.

... . I do own a forest river product. so i will say this

Having owned two Dodge trucks, both built in Mexico, I will boldly stand here and agree with Harvey. My first Dodge (1995) was never in the shop or the dealer for anything and my present (2005) so far has not been in the shop. I have know many who's Dodge truck were built in St Louis and they can not make this claim. UAW is the problem and has to be done away with or they will ruin the US auto industry.

I love my truck and I love my country and I have no desire to live in Mexico or any other country and, yes I too have served my country in uniform, two hitches in fact. I don't want credit or thanks for doing it. I did it because I want to and because I love my country.

Chris, you have a personal hard ** with Harvey and I because we told you about the poor rating that your Forest River has according to the RV Consumer Group Guide. You keep bringing it up all the time. You asked for a rating and I told you straight and true. If you don't want to know, then don't ask.

Now with that said I would like to put an end to this bickering and get back to the topic of this thread. As for Mr. floorman I believe he should stop his whining and go out and buy a Furd.

Hello Mr Grizzly

Point 1... I was not talking to you... I did not know Mr Barlow needed you to defend him

Point 2... I was Responding to Mr Barlow in reference to His anti Labor remarks.

Point 3... I Did NOT ask for your review of my forest river product better go check the thread again.

Point 4... I have no issue with you and Mr BArlow and have said very nice things about both of you on this public forum that I pay my same 45 dollars a year that you do.

Point 5... . Just because I disagree with both of you does not mean I have a problem with you. I just disagree My opnion

point 5... . I have publicly invited both of you to my Home should you find your selfs in Juneau AK.

Point 6... . I have Apologized for hurting You and Mr Barlows feelings. in Public

Point 7... . NAFTA

Point 8... . I see in lots of other posts where you disagree with other members, many times when they do not ask for your input and your abrupt unwanted comments are responded in a much more civil way than i have been responded to

If both of you are so thin skinned that a little conterversy bothers you then do not post things that will cause you to be unhappy if someone disagrees with you.

That is all i did I disagreed with Mr Barlow. After all is that not one of the things the USA is about freedom of speech. Something that both you and Mr Barlow served in the Armed forces for?? I have no problem with you or Mr. Barlow, I disagree Again if In Juneau Please Partake of my hospilatitly. I am a great Host.

And I stand by my statement the OP was a troll

and Mr Grizzly you are correct this is not the forum for politics

Again I am sorry if I offended you both Please accept my apology.

Mr Barlow at 47 years old and having served my country I am hardly a boy just so you know.

Have a great day.

Chris

Chris,

Harvey doesn't need for me or anyone else to defend him. As you can see from his posts, he does a very good job on his own.

The rest of your points aren't worth discussing.

george

Made in Mexico here. Ten years and 277,000 miles and this truck has only cost me $3000 in have to repairs, the kind you have to fix or can't drive. Best damn truck I have ever owned even though it's been driving me crazy here lately, still drive it anywhere.

While I am here Mr. Barlow, your service is appreciated. Thank you
