Side air bags

My company wants me to purchase a new truck, but none of the dealers have any with the side air bags. Even the loaded ones are lacking this option. Has anyone found a dealer around the country that has 3500's with side air bags? I'm in Houston.

That was one of the requirements when I got my truck. I had them (Rice Chrysler) do a dealer nationwide search, and it seems like this is one of the rarest options on 1-ton trucks... there were only a handful of SRW 4x4 3500's with this option. I was told, that, because these trucks are so big, and hold up so well in crashes, hardly anyone spends the extra $400 - $500 on the side air bags. I ended up ordering mine the way I wanted it. --Eric

Cripe, that's exactly what I needed! (SRW 3500, 4x4) I would imagine throwing a manual transmission in the mix would be even worse!



This happened to me when I purchased my '97. I wanted 4 wheel ABS, no luck around town or around the country. Finally ordered the truck.

I ordered my 05 with side curtain air bags from Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque.

I bought a 3500, 2006 Mega cab off the lot with them. Laramie trim... Added bonus/bargaining chip... it was the only truck i could find in Alaska with the G-56... Only transmission I wanted, and they couldn't sell the truck. Just back me up, the side curtain is located in the B pillar by the drivers head, and it says SRS or something like that in the plastic, right?

Thanks. I'm willng to deal on some things, but others I won't budge on. The trucks cost way too much money to be stuck with something I'll never use.

My 2007 Mega cab 3500 4x4 has the side airbags. It took me about 30 days to find it, and it was in my home town. It was a requirement for my new truck, I was not buying a truck without them.
