13mm or 14mm Ppump is problematic? Or both?

This pump was a 13mm (I believe) but I can't imagine the 14 being better. Most of the pump problems only happened at high RPM. CDS said that they didn't have any problems with those pumps on tractors, it was the trucks that would cause them to stick. And the general conclusion was the fact the trucks carried more RPM down the track which the pump didn't like.

WAY behind. Having seen both (wasn't A Scheid pump but a CDS P7100) on the same truck it's no comparison. Not to mention how problematic a heavily modded P pump is. With them regardless of brand it's not if the pump sticks, it's when.

Oh. I wonder if the governor is the prob. The Sigma doesn't have one, right?

The gov. is not the problem. no one at this point builds a "p" style pump that likes big rpm. Internal part failures are the problem. The barrels and plungers are coming in a lower quality part than they were a few years ago(3rd world labor and manufacturing. cheaper is better right#@$%!) After going through 11 pumps 2 years ago there was only one option Sigma. Best move i have ever made.

As for a competitive pump there are some but putting them on a 5. 9 would be a real chore.

Is a sigma some kind of p pump by a different company?

sigma pumps came from France and have not been produced in many years Bosch bought the company out since they couldn't build a better injection pump all the true sigma housings out there now are just old pumps. I can't remember when it happened but I think it was late 50's early 60's.

I've been down that road before with 13mm pumps, that's why I run a 12 now... ... I feel your pain!
