Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Silencer Ring Issue

I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else... While enjoying a "cool beverage" with TDR members BIGDIG & GORILLA on a hot summer afternoon..... all of a sudden, my silencer ring just fell off :--) Yep, there it was lying on the driveway under the truck... . strangest thing

Just thought I'd see if others have had similar issues

Yup mine did the same thing. It committed suicide in my driveway. Love the way the truck now sounds.

Many people would try to link an accident like that to the "cool beverage" but I'll tell you, mine did the same thing and I didn't have no beverages. Perhaps that's why mine didn't fall all the way to the driveway

Ring Suicide

We all had better treat those rings with a little more respect, the SRSS (silencer Ring suicide squad) may start a Gove'ment investigation into the reasons so many are calling it quits. I tried to talk mine out of jumping, but alas, it's missing also

Mine got stolen... in the middle of the day... while my truck was in my driveway... by ME!

mine packed up and is on vacation untill further notice. ha

Mine jumped out and ran away one day, it was the strangest thing. Then a couple of months later my muffler disappeared too!!

Oh well!!

Any of you guys want to sell me yours along with the snap ring? I want to put mine back in. After the Volant intake with the optional hole drilled out in the front it is too loud. I would greatly appreciate it.

I couldn't believe it when my silencer ring left home. I waited for weeks and it never returned. I gave up waiting. Since all of these rings are dissapearing, do you suppose they're having a get-together somewhere? An organized Ring Retreat where they're laughing about running away from home and enjoying their retirement?

I'll tell you what, There not commiting suicide, there getting STOLEN! Someone's in the scrap aluminum business or something because mine did'nt last long at all on my truck and it came up missing, hmmmmmmm, I wonder... ... ...

AH HA!!!! finally found your post Glen Well sorry to hear about your ring falling off,things like that happen when me and Gorilla just show up at members homes for the first time. Thanks for the invite to your party,we felt at home there,almost didnt leave. Yup,the look on your wifes face the next morning when she walked into the kitchen to see Gorilla in his undies drinking coffee would have been priceless Well I hope to be back in the area soon,have to finish those two jobs in Richmond and Hampton. Chris should be there the first two weeks in August,I might be depending on if I walk off my job here in Boston. BIGDIG will be BIGDONE soonOo. .

Yeah when I go over to his place, I , first knock and then I ask if he has his pants on. I don't need to know what little dig looks like! Him and G. O. Rilla ruin everybody they come in contact with. Hopefully I won't see little Rilla either. Oh btw my silencer ring jumped out one day a couple years ago and I haven't seen it since.
