I read some vague discussions about a silencer ring on the turbo.

I was wondering if the 12 valves have it and if so, how do i and should I remove it? I want the turbo to scream.

Yes they have one. It can be removed with a screw driver. Pull the intake hose off the turbo and you'll see a shiny ring around the impeller beinf held in by a snapring. Pry the snapring out with a screwdriver (or two) and the ring will fall right out. Enjoy.

biggy238, i had a hard time taking mine out, i would suggest two small flat head screw drivers. you'll be glad you took yours out once you take that first test drive w/o that baffle.

Ditch the ring. :D You'll like it. Other than more whistle, you won't gain or lose any performance.

Yea, this coming from a guy who displays photographic evidence that his is still securely in place. :p ;)

Scott, I was thinking the same thing... I got it out about 5 mins after the first reply. Needle nose pliers and a flat head. It screams. Turbo ricers can &#$% it now... Somebody around here has a nice little snap ring puller but i don't remember who. . I used to have access to the neighborhoods tools when I was young. AH the days. .
