Silencer ring what does it look like

I think the silencer ring is in the fron t of the turbo But what does it look like and where is it

Those are pics of the HX-35 I took back in '01. My first Cummins Ram, 3500 6x6. I took a bunch of pics and posted them. Funny how some get around. Someone also posted a pic of the same truck doing a smoky burnout that I posted a long time ago. It showed up in the Smoke Stories thread not long ago.

What does it do exactly?? It looks like it helps air flow.

Silencer---It dampens the whine of the turbo and thats all it does. Does not help or hinder performance. Your big boy engineers just put it in there to cut down on noise. Talk to Cummings and they will tell you what it is there for--Noise. I think it is in the FAQ too. Some people like to hear the whine and some don't.
