It will do no damage.
When you look inside the turbo intake, you will see a thim black, snapring, this is what you need to remove.
To remove it, just take a small flat blade screwdriver and slip it under the snapring and lift one end up out of the grove. Work the ring out from the turbo. Once the snapring is out, you can remove the silencer ring.
After doing this, you are done.
As a note, this does absolutely nothing for peformance enhancement, but sounds really cool.
