Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) silencer ring

I've asked about the silencer ring and I think I found it. Is it the chrome ring inside the intake side? If so ,how do you get it out? I tried pulling it out but it didn't want to come. Or do you have to destroy it? I just hate tearing things up on accident, Idon't mind it on purpose.

you have to pull out that little black snap ring right in front of it. it is stubborn . then the silencer ring will fall out. then clean up any mess you made so it dont get sucked in.

Yeah & he forgot to tell you to go buy ear plugs. I pulled mine out drove 5 miles turned around pulled back in my shop & put it back in. (did not like the white smoke on takeoff either)

yea what smoke?and what noise. can hardly hear it . i did hear of some saying if you run after market air filters it is a little louder. i have stock. i like the little extra whistle.
