Silencer Rings in Turbo?

please explain the easy way of removing entire intake tube. It looks like it would slide in and out in one piece. It looks like the ring must be removed from the topside?

Well I got it out. It was a little harder then I thought it was going to be but its out. I do notice a small difference but I dont have the cool air intake yet, and that will really make the difference. Yup get a long pry bar if you have one and yank her out. I didnt have a long one I have a big screw driver and after all of the yanking and hammering against the screw driver I could see it starting to come along. I then grabbed the tire iron that comes with the truck it has a nice edge on it to pry it out. I would post pics but my wife took the camera on vacation.

Well there is a small difference but TBH I would say no if you keep a stock box and air filter. Now if you put a K&N air filter or something in the stock box then I think that would help it out.

Whats the best way to remove the dowels? You don't have to remove the turbo to get to them, do you?

hey sky quick question for you. . how do your turbo sound now with the silencer ring out and cold air intake. . i just removed my silencer ring and have an air aid cold air intake. . and my trucks turbo sounds like a supercharger. . alot different then my 05 was. . just curious if yours is the same way. thanks garett

What kinda intakes are out there for the 6. 7? And what do you have on your truck or would reccomend looking at... ...



Sounds like a supercharger???? If so thats great... . WOuld you say it sounds better than the 5. 9's or you like the way 5. 9 sounded better with intake? THANKS

Sorry I was out of town for 3 weeks. I dont have a cold air intake but it is the very next thing I am going to do like this week. I would like to find something that will adapt to this SRT hood I got. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd also love to hear this. I'm thinking it might be the air box that is more sound dampening than the actual silencer? Has anyone tried just a cold air kit first and then pulled the silencer for a comparison? If so could you please describe the difference.

Were these pics of the ring from the 6. 7? I pulled it out of my 5. 9 today. Made quite a difference in sound. The snap ring stayed in place when I pulled mine and all that came out was a thin ring that looked like a small dinner plate with a hole in the middle. The pics in your post look like a lot more came out of it than mine...
