silincer ring??

i've done a small amount of bombing to my rig but i don't know what a silincer ring is or what it does. i see plenty af TDR members removed theirs. is there anything to gain from doing this?if so ho do i remove mine? thanks...

I think all you will see by removing the ring is MORE TURBO WHISTLE. If you like that sort of thing than do it. It is kind of cool to hear where the power comes from. For some on a long haul (1000 mile days) the whistle might get old.
