Mercedes gets theirs - no tear shed!

3 Diesel unimogs -

My g/f works in a small industrial/office complex with 3 or 4 office/warehouse buildings. She works in the one next to the Ford Training Center, which she said they train technicians. (see where this is going?)

She doesn't park under the pine trees since the sap gets all over, and there are mountains of snow limiting spaces, so she parks at the Ford place with no trees and extra spots.

So, I walk to work and ride the bike when nice, she gets the truck. Since she started parking there, she has told me the guys having their early morning smoke and coffee break ALWAYS look at her when she pulls in and parks, glaring and staring.

So, I had the truck a few times last week so run some errands and dropped her off. Sure enough, there they were, looking away. As I am driving by to get back onto the main road (Arapahoe), another Ford employee pulls up in his 6. 0 dually.

I mashed it, you know, to merge safely into traffic. I am sure they heard the AFE and turbo whistling away :D

I got 2 for ya.

Prior to my truck, I had an audi TT (while living with the 'rents). I did car shows. There was a local show at the DXC head quarters (I lived in Michigan at this time). So, I took the TT as apposed to my old Jeep a few times with hopes to get a few hot laps on the track around HQ. Well, I never did get laps on the race track with the TT (but I did with the SRT-10, SRT-4 and Crossfire), but the roads around the complexes connecting the parking lots were lots of fun.

So, there's there Mercedes in front of me, he guns, it, I get on the go peddle and match and start to pull closer on this executive around the roads!. HA!. We give each other a nice thumbs up.

Did I park in the "not a DXC made car parking lots". Heck no!.

Year later, TT lease up, Truck purchased (leases SUCK!). GM Medium duty truck show in Flint. Well, I was using my truck for work in this case, moving stuff from the tractor trailer parked in the proving course we setup to the inside show across the complex in another building. The walk and carry was rather long vs just parking in the rather EMPTY lot that said "GM vehicles only". I got two "gm tickets" and a threat to tow me. I laughed, stated my case and was "allowed"

Good stories guys, good stories indeed! A while ago I was dropping my buddy off at the local ford dealership cause he dropped his not even a year old 06 6. 0 off for warrenty work. Somthing to do with the dash cluster failing, the tach would go crazy on him and drop to zero then go up to redline, I dont think the motor was really doing that, just electronics. Back to the story though, after I dropped him off I was pulling around the dealership to find the hidden exit and a bunch of ford techs were outside for their smoke breaks, all with their ford hats on. They looked at my truck and started to point and laugh, of course I couldnt hear them over my rattle box. So I cranked the old chip up, pulled out of the exit and cracked into it. Put out a nice big ol' cloud of smoke, needless to say the truck performed flawlessly and broke the ol' tires loose. I looked back and I'm pretty sure the guys were sitting there just lookin at each other. I'm not the kind of guy who hates on other companies, I have respect for everything. I just dont tolerate people pointing and laughing like that, kinda burned me a little.

It's nice to show others what your truck is all about sometimes. Now I feel like driving through a Ford lot on a nice warm Saturday, slow of course, then do a smoke show on the street :)

Yeah, I'm not one to go hot rodding around town all the time, trying to raise hell. I do like to know though that the extra go power is there and ready. As I said I am not negative towards any other motor company, I give respect and credit where its due. I mean the other day this subaru sti was messin with me, so for the first time in a while I cranked the chip up and just playing with him. Needless to say he tore me a new one, he pulled off into a gas station and I pulled in to, to give him congrats and to say hes got a nice car. Its all fun to me but I am not going to lie, out of all my buddies with diesel trucks the guys with the Fords talk the most crap outta everyone else, I dont know why this is but they never stop going on and on about their trucks and how dodges and chebbies should bow down to Ford. Needless to say that day at the ford dealership boosted my ego a lil bit.

Buddy of mine Ran one of the newer F150 SVT's. The races was uphill a little and while waiting to launch he rolled back like 1 and 1/2 trucks. They flag the start and he pulled 3 trucks on the hole shot (the SVT was spinning, retard). Walked him down the street with a 10 truck length win.

As soon as they pulled back in, 20 guys surround my friend. Looked like they were going to give him a few wining punches, for a bit there. Kinda upset... No fights, but was close, some harsh words were exchanged... .

I don't get people some times, yeah sure your girlfriend was laughing at you, but that's not my problem. :)

Heh, one time I got the guy (driver) to laugh at his GF (shotgun) for losing a race to me. She said he's win (new SS trailer blazer), he said he'd lose to me. He lost. he laughed. WEIRD!

Sore losers, huh? I would be upset if I lost but someone has to win!

I've had one of those experiences Jason, my buddy with the same 6. 0 that was in the story I posted above raced a random guy in a newer Chevvy 1500 4x4, the truck was actualy pretty quick. I was with my buddy, keep in mind hsi truck is a 2006 F350, Full 4 door, 8ft bed 4x4 ... decently heavy rig. They raced from a roll, they both cracked into it and my buddy was able to get a good 3 1/2 - 4 truck lengths on him and kept that distance till we pulled into the local shopping center. Well aparently all 4 cars were behind the guy were his pals and they were headed to a party. Well they all pulled in to, my buddy and the dude driving the chebby exchanged words. My buddy with the 6. 0 is a pretty damn decent boxer but hes the first to admit that boxing isnt street fighting. Well words went to fists and my buddy ended up laying the guy driving the chebby out, I grabbed my buddy and pretty much picked him up and threw him in his truck and told him to drive. As we were leaving I looked back and all of the guys friends were just looking at us like holy h*ll what just happened. That was the only race I've been involved in that went bad like that before. Not fun times :( :--)

I've seen some rather quick chubbys here and there. But yeah, I totally hear ya. it's not like there was money involved and not like some one cheated and not like it was an official race. chill out people! It's obvious you haven't spent enough money on your truck!

It's all about knowing what your racing and unfortunately with a diesel truck, it can be slow or just freaking insane fast and you won't know what hit ya until it's too late. I think alot of the people I run don't realize what the heck is happening, then think "that can't be!" then try again and again and keep getting the smack down :)

Yeah thats the truth Jason. A lot of people cant phathom the idea that there 4-5k pound truck just got run by a 7-8k pound heavy diesel truck. Everything can be quick, just depeneds how much money you put into it to get there or faster. Oo.
