What's a silencer ring??

Remove the intake hose off the turbo and look inside the turbo. The beveled area is a ring held in place by a snap ring. If you remove this it makes the turbo louder but does not improve performance. My advice - don't mess with it.

It won't hurt to take it out, just makes the turbo whistle a little louder , some of us like that.

I tried the shiny thing on the finger, it didn't work... . I was hoping it was a magic device to counteract the neighbor's annoying car alarm :-laf

I was thinging the same thing. That shinny thing is just an amp, to make the sound louder. The bad part, how do you unplug it?
