Silverline down pipe install....

Hello All,In the middle of installing a silverline stainless system on my 06' mega cab. I finally got the old system removed, In the process of trying to install the down pipe,this thing is really fighting me! I cant seem to get the flange on the new pipe inside the retaining ring,or at least all of it at once! I think the worst part is Im by myself,trying to work from below and thru the wheel well. I read where one guy had to remove the rubber insert where the hanger goes to allow the pipe to ride further up onthe elbow. I hanen't tried that yet. Any other ideas on this or something Im overlooking maybe? Thanks in advance! Eric

the v-band clamp on the exhaust elbow i think i slid up onto the elbow and positioned the down pipe into place along with the mid pipe and muffler and lightly clamped them all in place. . that held the down pipe lightly... i do remember hammering on my down pipe hanger to get it to line up better. it felt like it was welded about 1/4" too far up. .



don't know if it is any help in your situation though???
