Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Simple ? for 12V guys with NV5600

Hey all you other guys that have done the NV5600 in your 12V. What did you fill the gap between the shifter and the boot with? I had a piece of foam pipe insulation in there. Then a buddy with a lathe made me a fancy aluminum collar mounted to the stick with a set screw. Finally got around to installing it today and it looks pretty good but I was wondering what the rest of you have done.

I used a rubber grommet simmilar like you would use to put in a firewall to pass wires or lines through. I used one smaller than the diameter of the shifter stalk and streched it down over the shifter so it fits tight. The boot fits tight on the outside if the grommet fairly snug. It will come loose if you mess with it enough but stays put outherwise while shifting.

Thanks for the reply JTeague. I hadn't thought of that. Definately would look better than the piece of pipe insulation I had.
