I posted this on the trailer forum too. I was washing the new baby for the first time today and I see that my new 06 3500 does NOT have a receiver hitch on the back!!!! My 04. 5 had one STOCK!! ??? !!! I only pull goosenecks, but HECK, whats up with that???? I can't say as I blame them, mine NEVER got used on the 04. 5, not even once... But I thought a 1 ton would automatically have them??? I DO HAVE the wiring back there I see for the connection, but just a little shocked. .

Thanks!! That doesn't scare me TOOOOO bad as long as I won't have a problem with a gooseneck hitch and the wiring etc... It does have the factory tow mirrors...

Yea, after some research I see that the Trailer tow group option is only 275. 00 upgrade. My truck does have 2 of the three upgrades. ( Battery and I believe wiring harness). Just missing the hitch. No big deal, I will be pulling a gooseneck anyway!

did you buy it new or order it? if it was a truck on the lot, check the frame to see if there use to be a hitch bolted to the frame. There is a chance since it has the tow mirrors it had a hitch and was swiped and put on another truck to make someone happy with thier purchase. Have heard of dealers doing it before if a part wasnt instock and a buyer on the edge of buying or not.

Don't think so... ... ..... to remove a factory installed hitch the bed must be raised. It would be cheaper to add a hitch. Check the wiring,is it 4 way?All the new trucks come with 4 way wiring, the 7 way is part of the trailer pkg.

If you have the trailer 7-way wiring, you will have the stock wiring plug mounted on your rear bumper. You could have had a receiver, if a dealership needed one in a hurry they could have taken yours off, that has been known to happen. If you want one - real cheap - I'll sell you the stock one from my truck. I took it off to mount a more heavy duty one.

Looks like you have an (ST) trim truck? It is an option with that trim IIRC?

On another note, I was at HD the other day, saw a brand new Super Duty with the dealer plates still on it F350 Crew/ FX4 Long Box W 6. 0L Powerstroke, looked at the back, no reciever hitch? This was a Lariat to boot? I was thinking perhaps the owner removed it? But it cought me of guard...
