Getting ready to buy a goerends TC. Last decision I have to make is whether to get a single or triple disk. Any thoughts? What are the differences in power handling and drivability?

With the low end torque of the cummins, and unless Dave is setting up with really high line pressures I would get the triple. Ask Dave he will tell ya.

i think it would also depend on what to do with the truck... drag race... ... sled pull... . or street play

if you want to sled pull i'd go with the triple... . if you want to drag go with the single (less weight quicker ET's)

just my $0. 02

DTT uses a little different strategy with their trans. They build a tight convertor therefore the lock up doesn't have to work as hard, and also they may run high line pressures, which helps the single hold. On the towing trannies Dave wasn't setting the line pressures as high as on the racing ones. Go with Dave's recommendation, he doesn't sell you things you don't need.

Good point. I do have a little, OK... alot, of Tim "the toolman" Taylor in me. Aarrghh, Aaarrrggghh, Aarrghh!

So... single would work fine but the triple is better and would probably handle anything I throw at it? I think I'm leaning towards the triple.

thanks,

Is the torque converter the main thing you need on this transmission to make it handle 140hp and 2 to 300 more torque. I mainly pull 7 to 8000 lb snowmobile trailer and hotrod it around town. The stock transmission feels like it is struggling when i put it on the highest setting on my programmer. I don't feel comfortable leaving it to the floor for more than 5 to 10 seconds.

What about the valve body,etc?
