Wife got me SIRIUS satellite radio for Christmas and I'm getting ready to install in my 03 and was looking to see who else may have already done this. She purchased the Audiovox head unit and shuttles for my truckand home stereo. I've installed it in my home but have not installed in my truck yet. Here are a few specific questions I'd like some help with.

1. She purchased the shuttle for my truck that has RCA inputs which I don't believe the stock deck will take. True? I believe I need the FM modulator version. Should be able to hook right into the antenna cable??

2. Where have people ran the mini RF cable for the antenna through to get inside the truck? 3 r. d. brake light????

3. What are these through glass connections I saw mentioned on the XM radio post??

Thanks for the help. Photos of the install would be great too!!

Need to update sig... now have 9K miles on truck and running great!

What model of radio does you truck have installed? Some modes have a ten pin connector on the back that can be used to connect a MOPAR CD Changer or MOPAR SIRIUS radio but I found this company www.pie.net that makes adapter that gives you a RCA input to the stock radio.

If you look at the front of the radio display cover the model should be shown. Depending on when your truck was built it could have an RBK or later builds (after 03-13-03) have the RBQ with 6 disc changer built in. Both of these models have the extra port on the back that allow for an external MOPAR CD Changer or MOPAR SIRIUS radio and with the adapter from PIE would give you an RCA type input.

Thanks for the help guys. That last page showed me I have the RBK installed. Now I have to decide whether to order the kit to convert my RCA's in to the deck (wife bought me the RCA adapter, not FM modulator) or to trade that kit in for the FM modulator version. Anyone know of pro's/con's to the FM modulator types?

As I did stereo radio repairs/installation in years gone bye I always got better sound quality with RCA that the RF modulators. Technology has come a long way so todays modulators should be better but why go to the work of converting the sound and then unconvert again in the radio you lose a little of the quality each time you convert the signal.

Agreed. Thanks for the help. Now that I can hook it up, has anyone ran that mini RF cable from their roof to the dash????? How did you get it in the truck???????? Third brake light??
