Ok Im taking the plunge and want to install a sirius radio. It will stay in my truck so I dont need a plug and play setup. Does anyone know of the best choices as far as ease of install and also clean install?I see mopar part #'s 82206488ab for the radio kit and 82208116 for the install kit. This install kit has you drill the roof for an antenna wich I'm not real crazy about. Anyone with any suggestions?I have had good luck dealing with crutchfield in the past but dont know suat about these sirius radios. I would prefer not to have all sorts of wires and antenna cables haphazardly running thru my beloved CTD.

i have an audiovox setup that is removeable, but the antenna for it is a magnetic roof mount, than tucked the wire begind the door seal and ran it around to the dash where i could tie it up... i went into a Circuit City and the people there helped me with what i needed

You may already have a satelite ready radio in the truck now. Then all you have to do is get the receiver and antenae and it will display right on your radio with no extra displays. Check with the dealership parts dept.

all 2003 and up radios are satellite ready for sirius i have the factory sirius radio setup except for the antenna i choose to have the terk sir mini magnet mount. you will need to buy the splitter that is about $20 crutchfield has them. the splitter adapts the factory one wire into the sir mini's two wire then position the antenna where ever you want. i mounted mine on the back of the roof and ran the wire through the third brake light works great no drilling and you don't really even see the antenna because it is so small :) Oo.

So if i get the factory sirius radio reciever and the install kit(part# 82206488ab and 82208116) i should be all set?I assume that i just use the radio in the dash for controls? Does that also mean that i wont have the small tuner that goes on the dash? The radio that the truck has is the am/fm cd player with 4 speakers.

I have the Dodge kit and it works just fine with the stock AM/FM/CD. It's a bit tight getting the rcvr part in under the dash. I just put the ant on the dash near the drivers a piller and it works just fine there. It's really great in those long trips... beat scanning the dial for a station.

I had the Dealer install it on my 2004. 5. Works great. The ant is mounted on the roof centered in the rear.

Good luck!

Kevin
