For the past year, I have had a problem with my Sirius receiver. Sometimes, when I start the vehicle, I get nothing but static. I could change to FM, AM then back to Sirius and would still get static. I would have to turn the truck off, then turn it back on in the hopes that the problem would go away. The dealership put in a new receiver. The problem happened again, while I was in Arizona. When I got back to Maryland, I brought it back in for some warranty work. While I was there, the tech who usually works on my truck happened across a TSB, while he was working on a Pacifica. The TSB involves replacing the Satellite Digital Audio Receiver (SDAR). For some reason, the number does not show up for Ram Trucks, although it does cover Rams, as well as other vehicles. Here's the TSB #: 08-055-05. If any of you have had this headache, and your techs couldn't figure it out, bring them this.

I just got the truck back today from the dealer. Apparently the new unit they installed, a much smaller version of the other, crashed the buss, so they had to put the old unit back in and order another replacement... . the new one was bad, go figure. It'll be in next week, so I'll post my results then.

I have been getting the same problem with my RB1 with Sirius. What I found out is before I turn off the truck, I switch the radio from Sirius to FM, then turn off the truck. When I turn on the truck, I just switch is back to the Sirius. No static. Yes, it's a little pain to use but it works consistently.

When I do get the static, it does not clear for a while. It's not just something you turn the car off and on and clears.

I hope someone finds a solution.

Andre,

The solution is TSB # 08-055-05. The replacement unit I got just happened to be bad. The dealership will have another one in on Tuesday.

Just an FYI... . I had a friend that works for a Chrysler-Jeep dealer pull this up for me. He might have been doing something wrong, but he couldn't find it under 2005 Dodge Ram. He found it under the Pacifica. But when he found it, it clearly says 2005 Dodge Ram. So, if other dealers are having trouble finding it, have them look under a 2005 Pacifica.
