I am looking at getting a Siruis satellite radio for my truck. Would also like to use it in the house and in wifes car. It will be in my truck mostly. Can anybody suggest a good plug and play unit? I have a RAZ head unit in my truck and if I could I would like to wire it to that to get the best sound and use a fm modulator for my wife's car. If anybody has any pics. of the unit in there truck that would be good.

I have the sportster which I bought at bestbuy came with the home docking station which uses rca jacks to an amp or radio and a car dock which uses fm to play thru the car radio. I have 1 in the truck and it fits perfect in the ashtray so I did not have to drill just ran the antenna tru the backlight and under the carpet. Plenty of wire. I also bought an extra car dock for the 5vr and glued a thin sheet of metal to the roof and mounted the magnetic antenna to it. The metal acts as a ground plain for the antenna. Not sure how I lived this long with out it Personal favorites are the jazz channels but there is something there for everybody.

I, too, purchased the Sirius Sportster... . I use it in the 2003 RAM 2500 and the 2001 Dodge Neon (daily driver). I have mine set up as FM modulated in both, but will get the adaptor necessary soon to run it thru the MODE feature of my am/fm/cassette/cd OEM radio... . I'll have to settle for the FM modulator for the Neon. I even bought the boombox and took it to Myrtle Beach, SC this year... . man, that thing eats batteries.

I have the RB-1 of whitch I purchased on line at the E-BAY site. I also bought the reciver from a TDR member here on the classified adds site. I then installed it my self.

Best way to sign up for half price

When you get your radio or whatever to sign up and If you have a friend go on his plan. It less then 7 bucks and I sign for 2 years then my brother In law did the same and he got half price also for two years. It up to you. The radio plays the same whatever way you go.

I have the Sportster too and ran the antenna same as Gsbrockman. Sticks there very well and even survives the car wash.

Have the docking station for the home stereo. It sounds great just through the FM 88. 1 I have it set at.

Like was mentioned here before, great selection of music and always something to listen to. RADIO SUCKS in SLC!

There's a ton of classic rock categories to remind me of "the days".

Does it have to be paid by one entity? I thought with a family plan you could add subscriptions but just to one billing source.

I don't have pics but will try to get them tomorrow or Saturday. I have the rubber mount setting in the ashtray and it has never moved. No glue no screw.

I would say that they have different pay plans, you will half to check with them on that. I paid for 2 years my wife set this up.

FPettijohn, that looks nice. Is the ashtray still in it or did you take it out. Also, did you use anything to hold it in there and how does it ride. Looks like the base fits right in there.

Rdedrick

left the stock ashtray in and did not need anything to hold it as it fits like they made it just for that. It rides like it was a perm mount with or without the radio. The base unit has a lock to hold the radio in and I usually use it when we have the 5 hooled up. The mount in the 5 is in the intertainment center so don't need to worry about it and don't leave it in when we are on the move.

I cant live without my XM Radio-one in the company truck-one on my HARLEY=Boom box in the house an garage.

If you like real Music go for it.

SIRIUS for sale

I also have the sportster and mounted it next to the ashtray in the

little popout that has power behind it. Mounted the antenna at the roof in

the rear and ran it to an fm modulator then to av to radio to get the direct

connection. FM modulation causes alot of static if not changing the station

all the time. I have had this unit for 3 months and am selling it for Ipod.

$75 for the sportster in new condition with 3 months service free!!!!!
