I'm just wrapping up the final touches on the software upgrade for the forums and photo gallery. Everything should be up and running now. The reader's rigs gallery has been shut down for modifications and new uploads now - everything from here on out as far as that goes will be in the photo gallery although all existing pictures will remain available in the readers rigs section. If you run into any bugs or problems please report them here and I'll get to them as soon as possible. I'll be hitting the sack pretty soon here and getting some needed sleep - it's been a long night. Enjoy . . . .

WHY is the (view posts) button next to the welcome "john doe" missing?

How do I view my old posts to find out if somebody has answered any of them?

Do I have to do a search of posts made by my own name, and why all the complication? I don't see any button under "user control panel" either.

inserting links

When I clicked on reply, ten insert link I get the box to insert my URL, paste, click okay. I no longer get the box to add "This link" or "click here" part of the new upgrade or a bug?

ive also noticed spell check is gone. it was a very nice feature.

also liked having the veiw posts tab in the corner.

thanks

I haven't installed spell check yet because I haven't found one for this version that I like yet - the one we were using previously doesn't work with 3. 6. 4. I'll be keeping my eyes open for one. You can view posts by clicking on anyone's username and it will drop down a menu and you click on "find more posts by xxxxx".

I've added the view posts tab up by the welcome message for your own posts. It's something I missed in the conversion - we have a LOT of customization and I'm sure there's some stuff I've missed. That's why I put the site up for a week for you guys to test to hopefully hash most of that stuff out before it went live.

I'm having trouble replying to a private message. I've tried twice, but it doesn't show up when I submit. The last time it gave an error that it could not find. . ?

When you say it "doesn't show up" do you mean in the sent folder? Private messages are not saved in your sent folder by default - you have to click on the check box that says "save copy in your Sent Items folder" (it has always been this way). Could you give more detail on the error? Is it possible that you changed the username that you were replying to? I just sent you a PM for you to reply to me and I'll let you know if it's received - when you reply to it click on the save copy check box and see if you see it then.

They just streamlined it. When you insert your link you'll see that the text between the url= and /url is highlighted automatically - that's the text that will show in your message. Just click on insert link, type in your address you want to go to, hit enter, then type the text that you want to appear. They just took the second javascript prompt out and highlight the text for you so you can change it.

Sumtin you fellers might look at,... . I'm trying to "email this page" through the "Thread Tools" button. After filling in all the info and selecting the send option it prompts me on the next screen that I haven't filled out required fields.. . Then I chose the back button and all fields are complete:confused:  Remember,... . This might be the reason for half of my screen name:-laf

Steve, when I got on (8pm) it seemed normal speed. Now it's alternately slower than sap in january or normal speed. No rhyme or reason, change forums, or read posts.

Maybe I need a Dew?;)

On edit, took 30 seconds from "submit reply" to show up.

I was out for a couple hours. I'm monitoring it now. It looks like a query on the front page for how many new posts & threads you have is causing locks on the database and grinding things to a halt. I've turned that query off for now and I'll be monitoring it. Thanks for letting me know.

Not sure what's going on there, I just tried it and it's working great for me. The only fields you should have to fill out are the recipients name and email address. Can someone else try it and see if it's working for you? Thanks.
