I went from the Edge EZ to the 6 gun. My opinion as follows.

-Not real impressed, it is strong but I thought I'd feel more difference.

-The low end power is worse than the Edge, the six gun seems to put all it's power on the mid to top end.

-No smoke at all

-Will probably do injectors to get the punch I want

turbojet,

do you have the speed loader? really want to know if you can feel the difference with it. Banks told me the Six-Gun makes its max HP under a full pull, with your big shoes i assume you don't pull a whole lot. my 03 is the first diesel i have bombed, so i can't really reply on the power increase. the Six-Gun with the Monster exhaust and the AFE intake really woke my CTD up though!!

I pulled my toyhauler last night to fill up with gas and let me tell you the six gun did seem to be more powerful under load. I do have the Banks exhaust and afe intake. I also noticed the exhaust temp didnt go past 1000 degrees at wot at aprox 70 mph!I did let off the peddle when I merged on the freeway. Ill be going to Glamis this weekend and cant wait to conquer inkopah grade!!Ill post my results Monday.

flores,

do you have the speed loader and what level are you running on? i sure wish someone would reply that is running this setup and has had it on a load dyno to see the real numbers on a HO 3rd gen.

i have the speed loader and six gun tuner installed on my SO '03 , when first installed threw codes like 8 of them, got obsessed with finding out why this was, turns out the "do not cross"instructions were a typo, once that was solved i can throw a 4,2 code in a "4" setting with speed loader, "trans slipping". a friend of mine has edge EZ box on his, and came to pull me out of a hole, when we were done we sprinted about 2 miles, i was waiting for the edge EZ '03 HO at the end of the road!!!! however i do still throw a 335 and 336 code, when i throw the burt built switch i also get a superboost/overboost code as well but it goes away when i turn off the green light!

Sorry it took me a while to get back guys.

I do prefer the six gun, yes I do have the speed loader.

My expectations may be a bit high do to the 37" meats I am running. It is definitely fast for a 9000 lb truck, just thought I'd feel a bit more, maybe I am jaded? 4 37s on the rear axle do suck up some power for sure. Matter of fact my mileage dropped 1-2 MPG after getting the tires, I think mostly cause it's a dually.

I usually run on 4, but crank it to 6 when I want to haul ass.

turbojet,

when your on level 6 and empty, does your clutch slip? what kind of boost and temp #s do you get? if you have a fuel pressure gauge, what will it pull down to? sorry about all the questions, but i'm just wondering if the speed loader upgrade is for me.

one more before i go, have you run with and without the speed loader, and what was the difference??

I also have both the Six-Gun and Speed-Loader, and while I can't can't give you any feedback on running with vs. without (have never take S-L off), I will say it's the "active" exhaust gas temp monitoring that made it worth the extra few dollars for me. The additional performance was simply a bonus.

ps - I base lined my truck on a local dyno 2 days before installing the Banks goods and will spool her up again soon! stay tuned!

I don't have a fuel gauge, no indication that the clutch slips. My temp gauge was installed post turbo (not what they were supposed to do) so that doesn't help. I know that BAnks does monitor the temp, but I still want to know pre turbo. The max boost I see is 32lbs. What kind of pre turbo temps and boost are you guys seeing?
